Description

Now you probably already know this, but I love the Jurassic Franchise.
And because I'm such a fanboy, I'm super hyped for the next instalment of this beloved franchise: Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom
So, to keep this hype-train rolling, I've decided to make files explaining the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar/Sorna, explaining how they behave, how much of their genetic code was altered by Ingen Scientists, and how they compare to their original counterparts.

One thing to note- I'll also be adjusting them slightly, like adding little bits of feathers here or there.
(mainly because I find it difficult to draw dinosaur without at least some form of proto-feathers)

For the eleventh creature on our list, I've decided to showcase an old fan-favourite that, till recently has really been referenced to in the films...
called: "DINOSAUR-ASSET" FILES-17
Terminated File-"The Chameleon Predator"

otherwise known as Carnotaurus chammimmus sornaensis

The reason why I've decided to showcase this creature is because, ever since I saw the trailer to Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, I've become so excited, not only because of the awesome effects, or the deep story but because two, really obscure dinosaurs are finally making an appearance to a Jurassic Park movie.

These two are...the British Baryonyx and the south American Carnotaurus
and it is because of the latter dinosaur that I've decided to make this post.
Becuase in the JP franchise, there are technically THREE variants of Carnotaurus.

the first two were made by Solely InGen in the 1980's
and the third one was by Ingen under Masrani Supervision.
and today, I will look at the first variant...a mysterious creature, lurking in the deepest jungles of Isla Sorna.
A one of a kind freak-of-nature simply called "the Chameleon-Carnotaurus"

Now a thing to understand is that I normally do not showcase dinosaurs who have never made an appearance in the films and are only featured in the novels, but I'm making an exception today for two reasons...

1- to celebrate the Carnotaurus finally making an appearance in JP canon.
2- this mutant has an interesting story behind it.

In the second Novel (by Michael Criton) there is a scene where the characters are being stalked by two of these creatures in the abandoned worker village.
But since I'm showcasing it, I'm going to try finding a way to integrate into the film canon.

so here we go...

Long before the incident at Jurassic Park, InGen had created many different types of dinosaurs on Isla Sorna, each with their own variants.
I've already showcased the two variant of Ingen's Deinonychus, and two of the three pterandon variants...
(and I've yet to show the variants of the other species) but they usually differ in a slight colour, body shape or behaviour.
But with the first Variant of Carnotaurus, it takes this to a whole new level.
Because instead of just a slight mutation or "error" this creature was mixed in with way too much
Chameleon DNA (as well as the frog DNA)
This resulted in a more of a hybrid that possessed many chameleon features such as...

-Freaky Independent eyes.
-colour-changing camouflage ability.
-long sticky tongue.
-flexible tail-tip.

And as INGEN found out the errors, these creatures were soon to be euthanized.
But after the hurricane Clarissa struck Isla Sorna, two survivors took shelter in of the larger buildings in the worker village. But since one was later found dead, killed by the Nublar-raptors, Only one of these mutants is known to still exist.
