This is my favourite self portrait of you as your eye looks very artistic and it's sharp. I like how blinding it looks and the hair looks very lace like which gives it an interesting touch. The only nit-pick I have is that, if your shoulders were bare it would add even more to the shoot.

But I still love it :D

I agree with your critique, I wish my shoulders were bare too. My problem was I was taking these pictures in a classroom which limited what I could and couldnt do

No .. she's not invisible, Phoenix.  She couldn't be.
Those eyes would stop a freight train in it's track and demand an answer to this question.

Exposed?.. Yes.  Like a deer in the headlights .. caught by bad fate and unfortunate timing.  But not invisible.

You don't allow yourself to be invisible.  Your work often causes us to stop and look with attention.  What makes your imagery so strong is that these portraits are created as much to say things and ask questions of yourself as of the viewer.

There is a whole world to see within those eyes and many stories to tell.

Stay with your craft, Phoenix.  No matter what comes, stay with your craft.

With warm regard,

Terry

Wow, I really can't tell you how these words affected me. You see, there are two parts to my life and to me as a person, as with most people- the invisible side I keep a secret, and the side that everyone knows and "adores". In general, people find me very memorable, with my name and all, but in all honesty there is almost no one that knows me. I also have a talent for disappearing, even among the people that know me. Someone will walk right past, inches away, and not even see me, unless I say something. It is pretty much a state of how I am presenting myself that day.
Through my life I have had many times where it seemed like not one person cared at all about what happened to me. I felt invisible then too, that was a dark time.

Not only because of those sorts of instances did I name this piece like I did, I named it because it just has that sense of transparency- the lack of color presenting someone it seems would be see through, yet you see nothing at all- none of the emotion or feelings or thoughts- all you get is the blank face.

I really appreciate what you said here. It is like an unofficial critique, and I like it.

My goal with my art is to remove the self made mask and show a small piece of myself. My art is where you can see me "naked" in the sense that the filter I usually put on myself in life is removed. You hear all my questions, you see all my emotions. I like for people to by halted by my work. I want the viewer to stop and ask questions. Feel the need to leave comments of how it struck him or her. I want people to actually read the artists comments because they want to see what was meant by the piece.

Anyways, I have been particularly long winded. Sorry. I was just struck by your words, and I really appreciate them.
As for sticking with my craft, I plan to, but the camera I have been relying on was ruined in a river trip, so it may be a while before I can produce any new work. :(
