hi there! i love ur art! I was wondering, how did u use a black color pencil when coloring black hair? Since black can be a flat color and I'm trying to figure out a way to use it. Can u help me?

I must say; excellent work.
I love how well the colors blend together and how you managed to blend the background in with the foreground.
If I may give you one advice when it comes to using black (because it is indeed a hard color to use).
Try to mix it up with different colors. Black very seldom appears to be exactly black when you colorpick it on photo's. It's often influenced by lighting conditions. If you try to emulate that effect in drawings, it'll feel a lot more natural

Ah yes, I remember receiving that piece of critique from both of my art teachers during high school. During that time, they refused to let me do straight-up anime, so I was doing realism portraits and art nouveau style. If I so much as touched black, I got marks off ;; I usually do mix my black, but the shading here was so dark that it's nearly impossible to see it, it seems. There's a very light pink in the hair, and some blue in the shirt. Maybe I ought to work on lightening my shading, so I can get all of those colors to actually appear in my work, haha ;;
