Update 1 (2/1/2018):  You are all amazing.  I can't put it into words, you are all amazing and I love you for all of your help.

In just 3.5 days, we are more than 85% to our goal.  We managed to pay off rent, the main utilities, and legal fees, and we still have a little left over for food and necessities.  And just in the nick of time; my parents have hit some hardship just a few days ago--not enough to warrant emergency fundraising for them as well, but basically all it means is they can't help us out for emergencies anymore (medicine, food, etc).  So the fact that this much help was given means that you have saved not just us, but my parents as well; they don't have the means to take care of us if things fail, and they have my sister and niece to look after.

If we manage to meet our goal, we will be able to make a dent in our overdue internet bill as well as make sure we have money for food until my next paycheck (the 15th).  ToxicCreed has also recovered, and she has begun the process of looking for jobs.  We're also going to look into disability for her if need be, in case her diabetes (and other health issues that we're still sorting out) makes it hard for her to work.  We're doing so much better now than we were not even a week ago, and it's all thanks to you.

Thank you, all of you, from the bottom off our hearts.  Everyone that read, shared, and donated.  Thank you so much.

——-

I've finally talked myself into swallowing my pride.  I can't be scared about this, and I need to admit when I need help.

People are all too aware of how I say I'm coming back and then I end up... not doing that.  The simple answer is usually that I'm busy trying to make ends meet, working my job and attempting school for the umpteenth time.  Health also got in the way.  This time was different.  This time things were really bad, and despite attempting to salvage it, we're nearing the point of no return.  So here's where I get down on my knees, put my forehead to the floor, and put my faith into the kindness of others.

To keep things simple for now: I tried to help someone.  It blew up spectacularly, and I, my wife (:icontoxiccreed:), and even my parents and sister are soaking the critical fallout.  We stabilized, but after an unlucky break with a new roommate and then illness that quite possibly turned out to be whooping cough (which pushed my wife into DKA, so she's been hospitalized twice in less than 2 months), things are looking bad.

If anyone is willing to help out, all I ask is that you share this link:  www.youcaring.com/jennifercren…

That link has all the details I'm comfortable giving about the ordeal.  Donations would be wonderful and I will sing your praises eight ways to Sunday, but I understand that not everybody is able to donate, so even sharing the link helps.  Every share counts.

If you or anyone you know is willing to donate, but is only able to do so through paypal, I do have a paypal link.  That link is paypal.me/TaiOshiro.  Any donations received on paypal will be announced on the youcaring page, so make sure to specify if you wish to remain anonymous.

I can't thank you guys enough for reading, and especially for sharing, if you do.  Seriously, thank you.  There are no words for how much it means to us all.

Thank you so much.  I'm going to try to get some new art soon, I have a lot of little things here and there that I can upload for the time being, but I'm hoping to get some new stuff out too.

It’s okay, I completely understand! Lol, that’s part of why we’re mostly asking for people to share, everyone has their own things to sort through, and we’re definitely not going to demand donations like our plight is any greater than anyone else’s. The fact that you shared and that you would be willing to donate even if you can’t, that means everything.

Unfortunately points wouldn’t be able to help, but thank you.  Mostly we're asking people to spread the link or journal around if possible, we know that not everyone can donate, especially since a lot of people we know are unemployed, are struggling to make ends meet, or are students with limited income.  We don’t want to ask for more than people are willing and able to give, and what helped we’ve received so far has defied all expectation, so if you’re able to share the journal, that would mean so much to us.  If you’re not able to, then that’s fine too.  We are still thankful for the fact that you gave it your attention.

((I’m sorry if weird gibberish shows up in my message; mobile is acting up weird today.))

Thank you so much for sharing, you don’t need to apologize.  Seriously, thank you so much.  I’m still reeling from this being spread as much as it has been, let alone the help we’ve received.

There's some good people on here and then there's also some really bad people but that's just life isn't it?

It is. With depression, anxiety and PTSD (well I’m a ripe mess, aren’t I?), is hard to see the many good people from the few bad. Things like this bring the good people into greater focus and makes the world less scary, at least to me. That’s part of why the past 36 hours have reduced me to tears so many times; it’s a lot of little lights in the darkness, like stars in the sky. No matter how scary it gets, things are going to be okay. Having that reaffirmed for me has probably been the most meaningful thing of all, especially since life has been a gradual downward trend since 2013.

It’s alright, I certainly wasn’t trying to make things depressing! It’s just... I dunno, how life is. Which I suppose is a bit sad when you realize that something depressing has become the norm. The point I’m trying to get at: you and everyone else who has given this any attention, shared it on DA, Facebook, Twitter, etc, or even donated? You guys make it all better. And that is a big part of what gives me the strength to keep going, even at my lowest point. So thank you.

The link doesn’t work?  o.o  I just checked it and it connected to mine successfully, plus we’ve received two PayPal donations already.  Was there a typo in there somewhere maybe?

Thank you so much for sharing though, it means so much.  I’m just in awe of how kind people are being.

It’s okay!  Any bit helps, and I’m not gonna lie, I was expecting the donation amount to be $0 for at LEAST a week.  After the year we’ve had, we're just in awe of how kind and generous people have been.  The fact that you’re willing to read it, let alone share or donate, means a lot.  I’m not joking, all we ever ask is people share and pass it on.  It makes all the difference.

Yes, I've read your story ;____; I am very sorry that "friend" acted that way, especially after you helped them out! :/

Also, I have a syster with type 1 diabetes, so I know what it means to deal with it (even though I don't know how the U.S. helps you out with medicines)!

I am just glad people is helping out! This is the kind of things that warms up hearts ;w;

What makes it worse is the behavior was always there, I just told myself it was better than it really was. I’m just glad it’s over and we’re able to recover.

In the US, we have insurance paying for medicines and appointments and procedures if we’re lucky enough to afford it (and if said insurance will actually cover the cost). I’m lucky enough to have good insurance through my employer, that’s why I’m lucky enough to only ask for help with rent and not the astronomical medical bill. Diabetics thankfully do have options if they have no insurance, but it can still be difficult to get the supplies they need.

My wife was in that situation when we met, though she wasn’t diagnosed until 2013 (when she first went into DKA). Back then she had no income, and the reason she moved in with me was because, like with my friend, I wanted to give her a chance at a better life. She’s been proof to me, first and foremost, that reaching out and helping people does make lives better. That’s part of why I am so blown away by all of the help we’ve been receiving in the past 24 hours alone... it’s given us hope again after everything we’ve been through.

Eh, sometimes people can be jerks, and sometimes we don't realize it until we don't face it, but still,
what they did to your family makes me go mad :grump:

But I am so happy people helped out!

I just realized I forgot to skype you when I woke up. But yes. As I said this morning, thank you sooooooooo much. I wasn’t kidding. I was crying. Heck, my wife was up all night because she was just in so much shock over the generosity we’ve received in the past 24 hours alone. It’s amazing, and it’s definitely restored my faith that things with be okay. And I definitely intend to keep paying it forward in the future.
