Danny Was Absent from School Today

Well, I tried. I've been trying to do prompts for short story features on my journal but people don't respond.

Danny was Absent From School Today        “Abigail!” Mrs. Wolfe called to her third grade class today.
        “Here!” Abigail called raising her the pudgy nine year old hand. Her hair was in messy braided pigtails, she was wearing pink overalls, a black t-shirt and worn pink sneakers with rainbow laces.
        I sighed and kept picking at my pencil. I hate school, it’s stupid. When am I ever gonna need any of this stuff?
        “Tommy!” Mrs. Wolfe called.
        I lazily raise my hand while simultaneously pulling down my blue checkered button up. I quickly pull my hand down and frustratingly fix my shirt. I told my mom this dumb thing was too small. But no, she insisted it looked “handsome” with my dark blue jeans and brown boots, whatever that means.

I have one post made, and it's fantastic. I'd love to see more responses to these, but I don't have an outlet to accrue submissions. Since my other attempts failed so far I figured I'd at least do justice to my sole submission, especially since it is well written. Give it a look, and if your interested, my next prompt is:
