Exploration Lit 5Archer climbed off of Kanel, stumbling slightly as he hit the ground and stretched out his legs. His friends Val, Raejissa, Aidyn, and Hazel were getting off of their tokotas, Miracle, T. T., Dayan, and North. All of the handlers were a bit sore from the long ride, and were stretching their legs as they unsaddled the tokotas, who mostly flopped on the ground, though T. T. made a point to find a patch of unmelted snow and lay down on it, panting from carrying two handlers- Val and Hazel, since she wasn’t able to ride North around. Saddle bags were rifled through as the tents started to get set up in their usual semi circle, while Raejissa wandered off to a small copse of trees trying to find firewood with Aidyn. Archer and Hazel helped set up their tents while they were off looking for wood, finishing what the two young women had started, while Val worked to dig a hole in the ground and line the hole and the edge with stones, so they’d have a fire pit for dinner that evening
Easter Event 5Archer’s morning started out with a bang- literally. He shot up and out of bed, landing on the floor and practically throwing himself at the window to see Foxtrot out of the barn by the trash bins, and looking guiltily in Archer’s direction. He grumbled, hurriedly putting on jackets and a pair of pants over his shorts before heading outside to catch Foxtrot- if he didn’t snag the red and white male now he’d be miles away in a few minutes. Archer stumbled out the front door and managed to grab onto Foxtrot’s thick mane with his head burried in one of the trash bins, and grasped for his halter, which was, of course, missing. Grumbling, Archer led Foxtrot back into the barn, where he was greeted by Lima and Mocha, both eager to go out for the day. He secured Foxtrot in his stall, stopping to give Lima and Mocha a pat too before going back to his house to get breakfast started and put on some proper clothes for the weather. Once his breakfast was all taken car
Easter Exploration 4Rajan
Reese stretched, enjoying the warm sunshine--uncommonly warm for this time of year in Tokotna--and sighed happily. The Tokota Association was hosting a massive tokota-themed Easter egg hunt to celebrate Easter this year, and her dad had suggested she load up some of the ranch tokotas and take them out to participate. Reese hadn’t been all that interested until her dad had mentioned some of the prizes the Association was going to be giving out. Then she’d been more than willing to load Batida, Keladry and grumpy Oscar into the trailer and drive out to the event.
It hadn’t been a long drive, perhaps two or three hours, and considering most official Tokota events weren’t held that close to the Renward Ranch, Reese couldn’t see missing an event like that. She looked over the brochure of instructions in her hand, her eyes often wandering to check that her tokotas hadn’t decided to wander off. The piebald merle, Batida, had her ears pricked and she w
Easter Event 3Archer grumbled and groaned his way out of bed, not particularly fond of the idea of leaving his warm blankets behind for a chilly morning. He made sure to pull on an extra few layers- the temperature was hovering around freezing and the low dark clouds promised snow in the near future. There was a thin layer of new snow over Archer’s front yard as he peeked out the window to check, but at least it wasn’t snowing right now. He made himself a quick breakfast, musing over which tokotas to bring with him into town today. While he wanted to bring a few different tokotas than the previous day, he decided that Lima, Mocha, and Foxtrot would be good since they had been into town recently. Yesterday was technically the last day of the town’s hosting of easter events, but the tokota association had turned it into a week of activities, with a new event each day. Today was focused on helping clean up the town center after the events- picking up trash, helping vendors put their s
Easter Event 2Archer yawned and stretched, rolling over in his bed, stretching once more before rising slowly from the comfortable mattress. Like yesterday, the weather promised to be warm and bright, and Archer felt his breath quicken with excitement- today was the second day of the town’s easter celebration, and today there was some sort of event going on that was being lead by the tokota association. Archer was eager to bring his tokotas Lima, Foxtrot, and Mocha into town with him for the celebrations. Thankfully this morning there were no tokotas running out in his front yard hunting down bunnies, so Archer had a bit of a better start to today when compared to yesterday. He made up a quick breakfast for himself before walking out to the tokota barn and getting Lima, Foxtrot, and Mocha all set for the day. He had already decided that he wanted to let Lima and Foxtrot roam loose, and ride into town on Mocha, so he walked up to Lima’s stall and tugged experimentally on her orange
