The land is dying; flowers are wilting, prey is scarce and illness has spread over both wild packs and other inhabitants. There have been no sightings of any spirits, much less visions of Aippaq. Villagers have begun to wonder if the great spirit of Tokotna has been corrupted or has simply vanished. Your Tokota must uncover this mystery, and bring back the soul and health of the land.
Clairibelle 17068 and her trusty companion have found the source of the problem- the good spirits have been trapped by the bad spirits in a crystal in a cave in the Taniya Mountains.
Clairibelle could feel in her gut that something was wrong when she set out that day. There was no animals in sight. The foliage around her was wilting. It was very unusual and she knew for sure then that something was definitely amiss. She decided to make an attempt at figuring out what was going on. Her albino buck trailed behind her, faithful as ever. Nervousness rippled through the long mane’s body as she made her way towards the Taniya Mountains. She wasn't really sure what told her to go there. A gut feeling, she supposed? She could tell that the albino buck was nervous as well. He kept close to her, round ears swivelled backwards with unease. “We have to figure out what's going on.” She said, more to herself than him.
The air had suddenly grown rather cold. Clairibelle shuddered against the chill, ears pinning against her skull as she fought back panic. She couldn't see them, but she could feel the dark presences that surrounded her and her companion. The albino buck bleated fearfully, pressing against her side. Slowly, Clairibelle was beginning to piece things together. The spirits that made this land healthy and pure were gone, and in there place were the ones that made it sick and corrupted. The good spirits couldn't have just vanished into thin air. They had to be here… Somewhere, but...where? “Aippaq give me strength… Help me find them..” the sandy female whispered softly, feeling as if her heart were breaking. All around her all of the foliage was dead. It looked like autumn, but without the brilliant colors that came from natural seasonal changes. She wondered if the other animals had started to die off. She prayed that they hadn't, but her gut told her that if they hadn't yet they would soon. She was running out of time.
Bolstering her courage, the sand roan turned her attention to one of the caves that made up the Taniya Mountains. Something about this one was alluring. She felt as if something was calling her. Glancing at her buck, pulling him closer to her protectively, she put on a brave face and made her way towards the cave. When she entered, for a moment, darkness overwhelmed her. She stood at the mouth of the cave and then… something began to glow. Suddenly, it was like daylight. At the back of the cavern sat a crystal, about as tall as she was. Around it a red glow pulsed. It was terrifying. She could feel the negative energy pulsating from it, her instincts screaming at her to flee. She could not though. She had to figure out what this crystal was, but she already had a hunch. Summoning her courage and leaving the albino buck at the mouth of the cave, she moved closer to the crystal. As she stopped before it she peered within it. She could see faint shapes inside it, panicked and rapid in their movements. There wasn't a shadow of a doubt in her mind at that point.
She'd found the pure spirits.
