Cara Mia and Olen-Exploring (40/40) by taikunfoo Cara Mia and Olen-Exploring (40/40) by taikunfoo
After Archer and Cassie had finished fishing, they set out, wanting to explore. Though Archer was familiar with a good portion of this area, he suggested a few new places, and Cassie picked the direction-north. Cara Mia and Olen moved along at a smooth, quick pace beneath their handlers, though Olen moved a little quicker to keep up with the bigger tokota's longer strides. At every stream they found, they paused to rest their tokotas and give them a chance to wash off all the mud that was accluminating in a sticky brown mess on their fur. While Archer was looking forward to summer, he hated the mud season, as it got everywhere, but at least there was frequent rains to wash it off any vehicles. Whether the tokotas would allow themselves to be cleaned was a different story-and Archer was thankful that Olen didn't like the feeling of mud in her fur. Archer and Cassie talked most of the way, and Archer was excited about the possibility of getting two more tokotas-both male. Cassie shared some well-learned advice about owning mutiple tokotas, which Archer gratefully accepted. It would be a lot more work to handle the training for all three tokotas at once, but Archer felt that he could handle it since Olen's training was coming along so well. As they moved north, they gradually saw an increase in the amount of snow, and soon instead of muddy, dead grass, there was only the sound of crunching snow and ice beneath Olen and Cara Mia as they traveled. After one final wash in a stream, both Cara Mia and Olen were clean from mud, and Cassie and Archer continued on their way. They had ranged quite far out, and neither of them had been in the area before. It was rapidly growing dark, so they decided to look for a place to spend the night. While they had brought camping supplies and food, they were looking for a cave or den to spend the night in, as being out in the cold night wind with damp tokotas was a reciepe for frozen fur and unhappy tokotas in the morning. It wasn't long before Cassie spotted a dark hole in the snow, and went to investigate. Thankfully, the cave was uninhabiated, and the opening was protected from the wind by a couple of pine trees. Archer and Cassie gathered firewood and started a fire, letting Cara Mia and Olen dry off and rest while they went about preparing dinner. It wasn't anything special, as they were camping-just dried strips of meat softened in a pot of water, a few cans of soup, and the fish they had caught earlier for Cara Mia and Olen. The tokotas ate quickly, enjoying the taste of fresh fish and the warmth of the campfire. Cassie and Archer thought breifly about exploring further into the cave, but decided against it as the light faded from the sky, and instead cleaned up the various cooking instruments they had used for dinner in the snow a good distance away from the cave, hoping that the smell wouldn't attract any predators. They returned to the cave, and laid out their sleeping bags next to Cara Mia and Olen. Cara Mia was already asleep, and Cassie moved quietly in an attempt not to distrub her. Olen was resting her head on her paws, not quite asleep but not fully awake either. Archer ran a hand over her head before setting up his sleeping bag next to her. The flickering of the campfire and the warmth of Olen beside Archer helped him gradually drift off into sleep, tired after a long day of fishing and exploring.

Hi there! Each exploring depicted tokota needs a handler (50% visible) for me to roll this. :) I'm going to move it to the Misc Folder for now, and you can resubmit it when another handler is added!

Unfortunately as it is traditional artwork, I cannot add a handler for Olen. Please just roll for Cara Mia.
