Aya was trying hard to forget the events of the other day. And the only way she could think of to do that was through conversation. But Draik never made it easy for her.
“Yeah, so?”
Fortunately she’d had plenty of practice over the past year.
“What’s it like down there?”

“Well, does it look the same? Are there more forests? More plains? Rivers? Is it colder? Warmer?”

With the eggs crushed he could finally wrap up this miserable job and get his coin; and if he hurried, he could make it back to town before the dusky twilight darkened into night.
