You had been there several months now as an addition to the team, but mostly to keep an eye on Loki. After everything that had happened on Asgard Loki had been banished. The Asgardians had demanded his death, but his brother, Thor, had offered the God of mischief mercy, sending him back to earth to serve the very people he had so desperately tried to kill when he first arrived on earth.
When you had first learned of the real reason for your promotion you had been furious. Fury knew as well as anyone else what Loki had done to you. You could still hear his voice in your head sometimes, ordering you to kill innocent people. You had been under his spell, just like Clint, and there had been nothing you could do about it. You had been in the wrong plac
“Steve, I have to go,” I said quickly to Steve, unwrapping the cloth around my hand. Steve Rogers, paused mid punch and stared at me. “I just got I call from (Name). She needs my help,” I explained. Steve nodded understandingly and put another punching bag on his hook. I smiled to him. After all those years being apart and after all the fighting, he was still my best friend.
I dashed out to my car. As the wind whipped my face, I noted how strange it felt not having long hair anymore. Once S.H.E.I.L.D. fixed me up, I figured it’d be best to become a decent human being again, thus I cut my long hair back to how it was before all of this. Before Hydra had gotten to me. Before Steve was frozen in the ice of the Atlantic. Before (Name).
Together with Natasha and Pepper you were playing the old time favorite game of Truth or Dare as you were waiting for the rest to come back from a mission or the shower.
It was your birthday today and everyone had promised to be there. You were anxiously waiting for the presents you were about to receive. You hadn’t asked for anything, but knowing your friends, you knew they would at least get you a cake.
You had been part of the Avengers ever since the battle of New York when you had saved Thor and Steve’s asses. You had courageously thrown yourself in the fight, even though your S.H.I.E.L.D. training hadn’t even been finished yet. Nick Fury had been impressed with your skill and determination and had offered you a position within the Avengers.
Of course you had said yes.
‘Really?’ you sighed. ‘Do I have to?’
Tony smiled. ‘We all did it. So now it
He hadn’t even begin to contemplate the weirdness of it all. He, the rightful ruler of Asgard, was walking along a cleaning aisle with the same group of people he had tried to kill just a few years ago.
‘What did Pepper say she needed again?’ Loki heard Natasha wonder out loud. He knew she was talking to Tony, but as usual the man with the iron tin can as a suit, was ignoring her and walked straight for the large refrigerator with fresh meat.
‘Just take one of those boxes on the top,’ Clint Barton told Natasha instead.
The Avengers glanced at one another. “Come on guys,” Tony said, “Let’s go save (Name),” “No,” Thor interrupted. “We cannot. Only one of us needs to go,” “Then I’ll just go myself,” Tony shrugged. “No!” Thor stood up, slamming his fists on the table. The others at the table jumped back. “Calm down there meatswing,” Tony raised up his hands in defense. “There is one. And ONLY one, who will save (Name),” Thor said. The all stared up at him quizzically. “My brother,” he said.
“Your crazy brother, that destroyed New York, and killed a bunch of people, but because of his amazing abilities, we allowed him to join us? That brother?” Tony asked. “Yes, Loki. He is the only one of us who is worthy of the girl,” Thor said stiffly. “He’s right you know,” Natasha said, “Whenever Pepper and I go to
You were wobbling nervously on your feet. You had obviously heard of the Avengers after everything that happened in New York the last couple of years, but even though you were a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, you had never actually met them.
You had only been an agent in training during the attack of New York and when S.H.I.E.L.D. got attacked by Hydra you were knocked unconscious by one of the members of the S.T.R.I.K.E. team. You were one of the few agents Fury still fully trusted.
When he had come to you only several days ago to ask you to join the Avengers, you had laughed in his face.
‘I don’t have any special powers!’ you had cried out.
Fury had frowned at you, probably remembering your ‘vibes’, as you called your instinctive shivers you would get every time something bad was going to happen.
‘You may think you are not special, ag
‘I don’t know,’ you replied to you best friend of three years. ‘I don’t think it suits me.’ You looked at yourself in the mirror, wearing the dress you had bought a few hours earlier to wear to a party Tony Stark was hosting in Stark Tower. It hugged your body and floated around you as you walked. It was truly a beautiful dress, but you didn’t know if you were confident enough to wear it.
‘Yeah… I bet you look awful in it’, Steve sighed again. In the time you had been in your bedroom he had put on the suit Tony had given him to wear, cleaned your messy kitchen and even managed to watch the whole eight o’clock news.
You swallowed hard, looking at yourself one last time, before finally making your way back to the living room. Steve was sitting on your couch, his arms spread across the back. He was wearing a suit Tony had specially made for him and you felt
You looked around you, seeing at least a dozen more eyes gazing at you. Thor had told you to stay behind the wall, waiting for them to attack first, but you were getting impatient. The sooner this would be over with, the happier you were.
Without listening to any of Thor’s objections you ran out of hiding, a battle cry welling from your throat. Within seconds you were surrounded. You ducked as one of them lashed out to you. You were only just able to avoid being knocked to the ground. You turned your swords around in your hands again and stormed after them, thrusting your swords into their weak spots, causing them to fall to the ground immediately. You cut of several of their heads and wiped the sweat off your
Rain poured down on Stark Towers. We, the Avengers, where gathered in the big building, waiting for further orders. “Miss. (Name) is calling you sir,” Metal Mans’ machine everyone called J.A.R.V.I.S. sounded in the room. I jerked my head up.
It had been such a long time I’d seen (Name) and I missed her so. True I had been in Asgard for some time, but when I returned I had wished to see her. Alas I did not get to full fill that a wish. “Answer it,” Tony said. “T-Tony,” a panicked voice whimpered over the phone. We all blinked at one another, hardly any of us have ever heard (Name) sound that way. Tony lurched forward in his chair. “(Name)? You okay kid?” I believe Tony meant to pick up cellular telephone, but he did not. “Listen,” her sweet voice was hushed, “I don’t ha
"Hey (Name)! Come join us!" Tony yelled, jumping off the mini stage in the center of his living room.
"What are you guy's doing?" you asked, confused.
"What does it look like? We're singing karaoke." Tony grinned. "Disney karaoke."
"Are you serious?" you asked, smirking at the mere mention of Disney.
"Yeah, and it's your turn." he said, handing you the microphone.
"Okay. You choose." you said as you took the mic.
Tony selected a tune you knew very well, Oogie Boogie's Song from The Nightmare before Christmas. The avengers all enjoyed your Oogie impression and the performance, clapping and complimenting you. Then you handed the mic off to Steve, also selecting his song, Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. His LeFou and Gaston impressions were pretty amazing.
The super soldier handed the mic off to Dr. Banner next. Steve picked I'll Make a Man out of You from Mulan. His performance got very funny once he did his impressions of Chien-po, Yao, Li
