A Poem for a Friend
The most majestic, wonderful of creatures
With his odd minagerie of features.
Out of all of us, you made believers.
Hoofs, forevermore.
Your moustache was so lush and long,
Banana shoes were never wrong.
Your braying voice longed to join us in song,
Hoofs, forevermore.
You taught us to stay true to ourselves,
To never do things in sets of twelves,
To always break a set of bookshelves,
Hoofs, forevermore.
Alas, old friend, you were too great,
Perhaps it was you who sealed your fate.
Now we can only say too late,
"Hoofs, forevermore."
But make no mistake, we know your face.
