3-dimensional mapping of Moroccan, "girih" or "zillij" pattern, onto icosahedral-face symmetry. Subsequently, intersections and vertices were translated onto surface of a sphere, using unit radial vectors. Radial vectors are then truncated, to produce critical lattice endpoint geometry.
Several "false starts" and discarded trials to achieve final appearance. (Essentially, striving to properly re-align arc-segments, along parallel lesser-circle paths. One of my previous "close" attempts can be viewed in my "scraps" folder.)

Thats really cool.
This concept has been "on the back burner" for years. I, finally, felt enough compulsion to work out the precise geometry, and complete an artistic rendering.
Thanks, folks, for the compliments. I'm glad it's appreciated.
