To model any rotegrity (and there are plenty of different configurations,) you have to first be able to visualize the underlying geodesic tessellation. If you can do that, you can use the geodesic tessellation as a template, upon which to build the rotegrity.

If you check my models at Google's 3D Warehouse, you'll see that geodesic constructs are my specialty. I couldn't model something like a rotegrity, until I had learned SketchUp really well. It took me a couple of years to get to this point. (While I could do geodesic domes early-on, the curved surfaces of a rotegrity complicated the geometry, quite a bit.)

A construct, associated with a rotegrity, is the nexorade. If you go to the Geodesic Help Group (Google Group,) you'll find a discussion of nexorades that provides several internet resources/articles regarding the geometry of nexorades.

Thanks for your gracious comment.

Yeah, getting DOF to work, as I wanted it, was a chore, the first time.

I recommend that every Kerky user master DOF settings, to get more-realistic renders. (Some renders are just TOO perfect.)

Your welcome

Totally agree, I found dofmaster [link] invaluable when i first started messing with DOF in KT.

Welcome to the kerkythea group by the way

look forward to having more of your work there
