I assumed you meant an eyelid :XD:
I agree that the colors and contrast are a bit harsh in some areas, but I really like the overall look of the nebula, seems fresh. :)

Thanks mate. And yea, eyelid was what I was going for. Guess that wasn't very clear heh :p

What areas are (overly) harsh looking? I really need to recalibrate my monitor... heh.

the whites mostly, for example the big stars and the upper eyelid. It just seems like it has a lot color contrast in these areas, the effect you get from using color dodge and color burn blending modes.

Alright. Thanks! I'll see if I can tune that down a bit when I get some leftover time :)

I'm reminded more of a luminous deep-sea jellyfish than something one puts on a container to keep their sandwich fresh, but that's just me :giggle: Great colours and sense of realism in the starfield 8-)

Hah. Dunno if I should like the title I picked or not. On the one hand everyone comments on it, on the other... well, I was thinking of an eyelid, and most don't, heh.

And yea, now that you say it, it kinda do look like a jellyfish. That's actually rather neat!

Oh now I get it! :slow: I can't un-see the all-seeing eye now :evileye:

Is the lid that dark circle bottom left? That's actually a cool feature, it looks like there's a black hole in the middle. Good starfield variation, although a bit harsh looking in areas. The red colour looks especially neat in the shadows.

Hah. Erik had the right idea. Was thinking more of an eyelid.

There any specific areas where the harshness is worse than elsewhere. My monitor has the worst color calibration, I really should have that looked into.

Thanks for the comments btw! :)

Ah, he's also right about the harshness. The upper eyelid with the violet colour is most harsh. Otherwise, it's just the stars which are sharp with white edges.

This site seems pretty good for calibration: www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/
