Fashions worn in Kiev Rus in 10th - 13th century by peasants.

Women on the left wears a rubakha, a loose shift made of linen, with long sleeves, held at wrists by gold wristbands. Over it whe wears a wrap skirt (panova/poneva). She has her hair covered by a povoinik and wears temple rings for decoration. This is what a married woman would wear.

Girl on the right wears maidenly clothes, with a zapona instead of panova over her rubakha. She wears her hair uncovered, with temple rings.
