Egypt .:1:. by Tadarida Egypt .:1:. by Tadarida
In ancient Egypt, women wore close-fitting kalasiris, held in place with straps. The garment was long enough to cover the ankles and it could end below or over the breasts. It was was worn various types of coats. Depending on the period, either wigs or natural hair were favoured. Also, most people went barefoot.

Fashions in ancient Egypt didn't change much thorough the years:
•during te Middle Kingdom jewellery became more prominent
•during the New Kingdom, clothes became more complex, they were adorned with pleats and feathers. Colours were deeper and richer, although diaphonous gowns remained white.

One of the best illustrations of ancient Egyptian dress I've ever seen.

I'm astounded this hasn't had any comments yet! I'd been looking for some reference pictures of actual colours apart from the standard Cleopatra white-shift thing you see in so many Halloween shops, and these are beautiful! Many, many thanks for the gorgeous portrayal and lovely colours. Consider this faved!
