1790s fashion. It was much simpler than in the previous decades, due to the ideas of enlightment. Women's dresses still had the narrow-waisted, wide-skirted silhouette, but the skirt was now worn without the paniers. Embroidery was much simpler, dresses often had long sleeves and the neckline was covered with fichu. The most fashionable color was simple white. Hair continued to be big and messy and powdered as in the 1780s (although more and more young women would discard the powder).

Men's fashion also became simpler. Coats were beautifuly tailored and made of wool. Heavily emroidered silks and velvets remained necessary only for the most formal occassions. Here's a source picture: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Man…
