Renaissance fashion:

Mid 16th century dresses, with pointed bodices. Flared sleeves (right) generally give way to round sleeves (left). It's also the first decade that mentions a separate pair of bodies (corset-like garment)

* Changed the hoods to make them flatter. Why? Because tadarida.deviantart.com/art/15… The hood on the right is worn with a shadow, stiffened piece of black material that would cover more hair than just the hood (it was often worn by conservative women) and also would give the shape seen in the picture.
