Description
I'm not sure what brought this on. I think it was really looking at the Phantom Titan from Forgeworld in person. It is certainly, technically a wonder of model making and beautiful in certain ways, but it is so plain that I had to go back and look at titans that came before it. There is more character to the older Armorcast model, even though it is inferior in quality and in some ways detail. It just seems like at some point Eldar lost their feral quality, their uniqueness and sense of artistry for this feeling of 'advanced sleekness.' It just strikes me as wrong that the Eldar should ever have a design philosophy similar to that which created the Ford Probe. These are sung warmachines, and every inch of them should reflect the love and care of the artisan who created them.
So that got me on the kick that maybe I would want to scratch build one, which is kind of an insane idea considering it would be more than 2 feet tall. Drawing my design should at least sate my curiosity in this field for a while, but then this isn't a Phantom Titan, its a Warlock Titan. It is, without a doubt, one of my favorite Eldar creations of all time, and I never really got into Epic. It stands as one of the most brutal tabletop miniatures ever to be made by Games-Workshop. It is sorely missed for its character, though perhaps not so much for its awful--and I mean that in ye olde fashioned complimentary way--presence. The psychic lance is the inspiration for my Grey Ghosts and their psychic pike. It is the most Eldar of Eldar weapons, and hopefully, it stands on this field and in our viewers minds as a grim work of art.

Because a model of this would be very cool.
