Tablebeast is the creative possession behind the vessel known as Jesse Mesa-Savage. He prefers inventing in the shadows and hanging with the lowbrow types. His work is unique in that it invariably shuns the “fine” path. It is rough and raw, tumbled dry. It runs at times on obsession and other times as pure inspiration, a wisp on the wind. The extreme contrast of his creative disciplines helps to maintain the balance, from ink to electrons. In that spirit of balance, the amps and published originals of Tablebeast are not for sale. That doesn’t mean he hoards ALL of his work. Publications made by Tablebeast are often customized with original ink modifications, almost exclusively utilizing his automatic drawing technique. These inspired and unpublished pieces are currently about the only way to get a primary source from the man himself. The other side of Tablebeast’s work is his mastery of obsolete audio electronics, focusing on handmade devices from the vacuum tube era. His aesthetic in this field is focused on hunting down the beautiful, yet discarded, and repurposing them into entirely new, fully functional sculptures. You’re not going to find Tablebeast promoting himself very much and his internet presence is minimal, by design. He prefers dealing directly with people as much as possible, sans hype. Future plans include taking his works on the road and directly to the people. He will be recording live music with his own handmade studio on wheels, all while trucking his tweaked publications to his favorite leylines of creative energies: comic book stores, tattoo parlors, coffee shops, bars, record stores, dispensaries, &Co.
