Megan Taylor Pt. 23

Megan walked up the stairs of her apartment building with her boyfriend, Alcai. It had been a long day for the both of them. She had a lot of Mary's patients that she had to take over in her sudden absence. That had her booked all day.

Alcai spent the day patrolling the streets and tracking down any leads that would lead him to Dany's ex boyfriend, which ended up being a bust since he's suspected to be out of town now, putting him in Fenric's territory.

Megan: What a friggin day.

Alcai: Tell me about it.

Megan: At least the day is over, and we can just relax. All I want to do now is take a nice hot bath and rest my feet. Being five months pregnant really puts on the pounds.

She fumbles for her keys and slots them into the lock. As she opens the door, she sees that all the lights are out and the blinds are closed.

Megan: Huh? Did we close the blinds when we left?

The light turned on, revealing her friends standing in the dark with balloons and streamers hanging around the apartment.

Everyone: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Megan smiles at the birthday suprise, completely forgetting that it was her birthday today. She places a hand over her mouth and the other on her belly as she gasps with delight. Alcai bends down and kisses her cheek.

Alcai: Happy birthday, gorgeous.
