Spinophorosaurus nigerensis by T-PEKC Spinophorosaurus nigerensis by T-PEKC
Spinophorosaurus nigerensis. Pencil, 2009.

The osteoderms seen in the pelvis area are just artistic license. I took the idea after reading a conversation at DinoForum. There are no real facts in defence of what I've drawn here.

Hello T-PEKC,
May I ask for your permission to colour this particular piece? You will be given full credit in the description of the deviation, and the copyright of this image will remain yours. I will not sell the coloured piece for profit or use it for personal gain.

If you do not wish me to colour this Spinophorosaurus please let me know and I will respect your decision.
Thank you for your time.

Hello Paleocolour,
Thank you for asking for permission first and for providing full credit to artists when you use their work. Unfortunately, I can't give your permission to color this piece. It has nothing to do with you in particular. I do not wish to give people permission to alter my work because in my eyes this is a recipe for a copyright disaster at some point in the future. Especially if third parties got involved, by copying and pasting the "colored version" elsewhere on the internet without properly describing image's origin, nor pointing who the copyright holder is. I want to be able to protect my art first, and if possible to save myself from the headache from dealing with any potential negative situations.
Still, thank you for the interest!

Thank you for your reply, yes I understand the legal implications something like this may have. It's why I wanted your permission first. ;)
I respect your decision. Thank you for your time.

Is this just me or are Sauropods getting spikier recently?

Thanks!

Well, it seems like ceratin spikes or osteoderms were a common sauropod's features but we just recently started to realize it.

Seems to be the case. Basically the Sauropod Equivalent of Theropod Feathers.

Oh, but we don't mind if they're speculative, or artistic license. It still rocks!

And here's how Spinophorosaurus would look in JP! So, did it really have the tail spikes?

Yes, it did. Two pairs. The only fantasy in my artwork are the osteoderms on the back.

If you want to know more about the animal the paper is free and could be seen on-line - [link] .:)
