Media literacy encompasses the practices that allow people to access, critically evaluate, and create media.
Media literacy definitions have been defined based on general skills pertinent to all media or definitions relating to specific mean forms of media.
The US-based National Association for Media Literacy Education defines it as a series of communication competencies with the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and communicate in a variety of forms which can be print or non-print messages. They find that media literacy allows people to be critical thinkers and creative in many messages like image, language, and sound.
->Media includes print-, audio- and visual media, including but not limited to digital media.
