I can't do anything other than signing the petition (witch I already did) since there is nothing going on within my reach since I'm living far far away from every big city/from every protest they organize in my country
You're from Germany too I see? That's alright. I can understand that traveling to a demo isn't an option for everyone. I'm lucky I live in a big city so I don't have to travel If you feel comfortable with it, you could also tell other people about the whole matter and protests etc. Just so more people know what's going on. I got my mother to not vote CDU in the next election hopefully.
Politicians claim they do this to protect the "creatives". But the actual laws will only benefit big labels and publishers. Not the actual artists/creatives behind the work. Proof for this is publishers paying and even threatening politicians to vote in favor of the directive. (Katarina Barely admitted that a big publisher threatens her with Rufmord/defamation)
Introducing content filters is a step in the direction of total censorship. Suspecting everybody to be a "criminal". This is not in favor of free speech.
Most Memes don't fall under citation and satire laws. Citation and satire will be restricted further. (bot's can't detect fair citation or satirical use)
The Protests we did so far did make a difference! Mobilize everyone you can gather and join the protesters. Also go and VOTE in MAY for EU PARLIAMENT Vote for people that back your interests. Every % counts as the voter turnout is much smaller for the EU elections than for others. Participate in democracy.
Jep I know. That's why were working hard on convincing our politicians to vote against it in EU Parliament. And Demonstrate weekly here in Germany. You should see what the German pro-reform fraction posts on Twitter, oh boy. It's almost on Trump level
