I've made some changes to the Chapter, "Savannah's Mythical Journey" [DEVIATION] James takes a breath — the kind a man takes when he’s searching for the right words, not the easy ones.   He looked at her with that gentle, philosophical weight he carried. He spoke softly.   “Savannah… I’m going to tell you a metaphoric story.”   James paused, gathering the thread.   “There was a fisherman whose father was a blacksmith. One day he found two beautiful fish swimming alone in troubled waters. He wanted to catch them, but no lure he had would bring them close. So, he used his finest bait. The bait was lost. But the fish were caught. The fisherman was heartbroken. He hadn’t wanted to lose the bait.”   James’s voice softened. "When he brought the fish to his father, he found they were wounded and broken. ‘Can you help them?’ he asked.   The blacksmith looked at the fish and said, ‘Leave them with me.’   But the boy didn’t move. Charlotte saw right through her. “Sam… you’re getting worse.”   Samantha forced a smile. “I’m fine.”   “No, you’re not.” Charlotte had known for weeks. She’d been waiting for Samantha to admit it.   Samantha finally whispered it. “It’s terminal.”   Charlotte didn’t cry — not yet. She went still, like someone bracing for impact. “How long?”   “Months. Maybe. A year at most.”   Charlotte closed her eyes. Not because she was shocked — because she was furious at the universe.   Before either of them could speak again, Samantha’s phone buzzed. “Just a moment… Savannah is calling.”   She answered immediately. “Sweetheart? Everything okay? You should be at rehearsal—”   Savannah’s voice cracked.
