Your Religion is NOT an excuse to be a Bigot.

This year, with all that's going on, Pride is more important than ever, Allies are more important than ever. And yet I keep seeing people tearing it down, people acting transphobic, homophobic, hell even xenophobic, and when they are called out for it, they cry that they're being discriminated against because of their religion. It has nothing to do with your religion, it's your shitty attitude.

You know what one of the very first things I saw at my local Pride event this year? Church go-ers with picket signs. What were those picket signs? SHOWS OF SUPPORT! These were allies! Hell, the festivities were happening on Church grounds. There is no reason not to be fighting for human rights. No matter what your religion or beliefs, one of the most important human principles is to BE KIND!

I grew up in a religious household, and while I consider myself agnostic at this point, some things still ring true. Some people want to throw around bible verses out of context in an attempt to tear down people who just simply want to live their truth. Well here's one for you; Mark 12:31 - ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.'
