This is the Ogham bracelet I made my partner, I gave myself our two year anniversary as a deadline....
Never done any wire work or etching before so learning as I went.
The fine wire is Irish written with Ogham script (old Irish cipher). (He's a native Irish speaker). It spells "Mo grá [his name] [my name]* leatsa í gconaí" which translates as "My love [his name], [my name] with you always" *wordplay as put next to each other like that our names could translate as "long time".
The copper wire is from broken electronics l found while dumpster diving lol. He works on circuit boards/electronics and his beard is a deep copper, so it suits. The middle strand is plaited with a lock of my (blue) hair.
The stone is turquoise with copper veins (our gem fusion for any SU fans 😜), wrapped in a serch bythol, a celtic symbol of eternal love.
The symbol I etched into the outside of the magnetic clasp is the alchemical symbol for copper.
The inner side has the symbols for air & earth (mirrored by the blue & brown faux leather) - our astrological signs are air sun/earth moon and vice versa. A line is etched along one side to form a Fearn, the Ogham letter f, associated with ravens (my nickname is Raven) and protection/endurance.
(As a side note - I have many colours of faux leather ready to make and sell customised Ogham chokers through my Etsy shop. I'm Syntheta on there if you want notifications when I create the listing, but I'm happy to answer any questions or prioritise doing one for you if you pm in the meantime ☺️)
It matches this bismuth & copper moon choker I'm wearing in my profile pic. The moon is fitting, as he's been the biggest light in my life through some pretty dark times, and he's my rock. Plus hey, comet is a poly term I like and I'm not one to turn down the opportunity to continue an astronomical metaphor!
I'd like to think I'm not normally quite such a hopeless romantic, but I really can't believe my luck that we met, and neither can he. We're ridiculously compatible wrt polyamory, orientation, kinks and other preferences, our tastes (including our taste in men lol), interests, aesthetics, smell, neuroses (we both have ADHD), sense of humour, pace of growth/change, skill sets, lifestyle etc etc. I feel like I can 100% be myself around him and it never lessens how much he cares for me. Every hardship I've gone through as a result of my decision to move to Ireland has been worth it for this. I'm certainly not one to be into commitment for its own sake, I'm picky af and I get bored easily, but I can't imagine not wanting him in my life. Mo grá, mo ghealach, í gconaí 💗
