I'll say no more, everything's on the internet. Even all the imbecilic bureaucracy and political bullshit that make me ashamed
of calling myself puerto rican
At least my family and I are alright and accounted for. We spent the event at my aunt's in Carolina, but when we returned to our home in Caguas, it was shocking
to say the least. The front of my house was covered in fallen trees and branches that it looked like it didn't exist until we cleared it. We could not take our pets but, thankfully, they were unscathed. My own car took some hammering from falling tree branches and windshield dipped by a trunk that hit it, but the safety film kept it from shattering and water did not get inside. Everything was essentially fine, considering the circumstances...
Sadly, even 2 months
after the calamity, we have no power, no phone, no internet, and very limited cell signal at home. That will probably be the case for many months to come as I live in the central mountainous region, pretty much apart from the nearest urban regions. At least we have water... Without power one can adapt, that is one thing I have learned from all this. However, everything that has to do with communication is a hassle: If you need to send even a short text you have to get in your car and drive down almost to town just to get some signal, for internet, you had to find a business with working WiFi or go all the way downtown. Alas, the additional effort and gas expense make it difficult for me to keep contact with people in general, a consequence of living in pretty much the armpit of Puerto Rico! Heh... I'm lucky
I have relatives with electric power or both power and internet who support what I do and have let me come to their house or even stay for a few days to do art and stuff. My brother also let me borrow his laptop for the time being as my desktop suffered from a power surge during a thunderstorm a couple weeks before the hurricane. So I'll be bouncing from here and there while things normalize, and I manage to find a job.
What about art?
Slowly but surely. I has been a t least 3 moths since I touch anything I had in the works, and I'm familiarizing myself with the tablet and constantly changing setup. Any relevant art updates or anything new I come up with will be posted on My Twitter
. I will try to update My Tumblr
as well if I can.
Commissions remain open, regardless. I think this the time I'll need the income most, however small... I'll try to check as regularly as I can and keep contact to my best ability. However, I will be limited to one piece at a time due to the situation. If I get more requests, I'll make a wait list. Any queastions feel free to message me and I'll get to you as soon as I can.
It has been a while since I post an update here. I had hope to post again on a more positive note, but it is what it is... I'm okay, at least...
I hope everyone's doing well.
Have a good day/evening/night, whatever have you
