I'm 26, self taught seamstress,and viking reenactor. I have a master's degree in English (LLCE) from Lyon's University and I am currently looking for a job in teaching, or something more artistic.

3 years ago I lived in York, UK and I got to join The Vikings, a UK wide society for saxon, viking and norman reenactment.
My boyfriend and I went back to the UK for Hastings 2010, Hastings 2011, and Hastings 2012. It's an experience I recommand to any viking, norman and anglo-saxon reenactors.

I'm currently involved in a 11th century norman mercenaries reenacting group, Les Corbeaux. We participate in historical events such as Hastings or Falaise and medieval fairs.

My close friends and me have recently founded our own little group, Grävlingar, and specialize in viking reenactment.

Hello there! I am real curious about Viking reenactors. Is this real? I would die to be an reenactor! I was going to be an reenactor for the Confederate soldiers from the American Civil War. But, alas, this did not happen; for I have no way to get to events as of yet.

I was wondering, how do you become an Viking reenactor? What do you do? I'd love to learn about it! ^_^

Hello Gracelyn, if you are in the US, I'd suggest getting in touch with the SCA, society for creative anachronism, they have lots of groups all over the country, and they do a lot of different period, so you might find something near you ! Being a Viking reenactor is very fun ^^ I love sports so obviously, fighting is a big part of reenacting the period for me, but there is also costume making, cooking, various crafts and taking care of the camp in general

My persona is Norse Viking, but also considering Germanic but don't know a lot about either. I'm going to be doing heavy fighting and archery so not the typical "stay at home mom" Viking, more of a shield maiden look is what I'm going for. I also apologize for the late reply, I couldn't remember my username and password until I figured out which email I used for it. Lol.
