The Long Haul by Sylvianas The Long Haul by Sylvianas
I took this photo around this time last year (this time being around end March early April) on a trip that I went on again recently.
I submitted it to the Royal Adelaide show along with 3 other photos. Unfortunately none of them seemed to be good enough to be shown...
I've been meaning to post this for a while.
Can anyone tell me what may be wrong with this?

I think the picture may have been better suited to being landscape. Admittedly being landscape may have drawn some attention away from the truck but I imagine the edges of the truck would have made excellent leading lines toward the sunset.

Of course that would have completely changed the subject so you can ignore me now X{D

'Tis worthy advice. Maybe I'll try a shot with such an idea. Though I'd have to find a truck and make it stay there till sunset...

Easy if you've got enough ammo.

mmm... pretty.... I think it's a lovely photo, good colours too, something to think about though, when taking and/or editing aphoto, try thinking a little bit more about composition. It's an eye catching photo but it would be more attractive a picture if you think more about the positioning of the subject of the photo. Like putting the truck in the smack middle or higher or lower to the edge frames of the picture. I've done an example of basic subject composition for you if you'de like to take a look and have a bit of a play around with ideas yourself. [link]
You can completely disregard anything I've said here if you want, because it hasn't changed it from being a good looking photo, well done :)
(yes I'm done now, what a long comment!)

I'm grateful that you did so much to help a friend. I looked at the examples and I think that I could have taken the photo from higher to get the horizon lower, which may look better... Thanks for the advice, I'll try to use it sometime.:)
