Event Horizon by Sylvianas Event Horizon by Sylvianas
My internet died recently. Thunderstorm took out my modem, and considering the only thing I ever do is use the internet...I got bored.
So I made this in photoshop. I started with the concept of a visual representation of the internet. However, knowing that that would be rather difficult, I started mucking around halfway through and ended up with this.
The name event horizon kinda just popped up when I was nearly finished, and it stuck. It has nothing to do with a real event horizon, which is the point in a black hole that nothing, not even light, can escape.
Took me about an hour.

This is really trippy.

And if not for the dark black and shiney whiteness, the small circle-ish (technical term there) bits around the edge of the sphere make it look like a ball of honeycomb... But the bits behind the sphere look like blood or paint (but morbid looking paint).... Very unusual when you're only using two colours.

On entirely different note, when i first saw this, the first thing that popped into my head (I kid you not) was to ask what laundry detergent/bleach was used....

Hmm...That is a rather odd thing to think. What, pray tell, about this picture prompted that response?

Yay blood splatter, unintentional that it be seen that way, but I see it too and like it. :D

Well, to be fair, it is VERY white..and shiney.... maybe it uses the same stuff that gandalf ended up using in LOTR, that sure got a few eye burning stares... Ultra shiney whiteness!

And it's blood splattery in the way you see in black and white comic books (the manga ones) ...(I hope that's not a bad thing, I think it's awesome)

One word... shiny.

Hmm...That's exactly what I said when I was talking to someone about it... But it's not really that shiny...odd.

Not a point. An infinitely thin sphere at a set distance from the hole. :P

It looks like a diamond from the top (or the bottom). Cool.

Jeez, you wanna get 'technical' and 'specific' when talking about quantum mechanics.
You wanna get really technical it's not "An" infinitely etc... it's not singular. For this happens more than just one black hole.
It should read "The infinitely thin spheres at a set distance from each hole". And that may not even be true, say the black hole had a slightly irregular gravity field, then it could be more ovoid than spherical.
