Hi there! I'm Sylessae. I paint pretty fantasy ladies and encourage others to follow their dreams.

I am a New York City freelance digital artist, proud member of the Deviantart Collective and a Twitch Partner. I began my professional art adventure in 2016 and when I picked up a Wacom tablet pen for the very first time I knew there was no turning back. A majority of my artwork revolves around fantasy characters with a focus on color and wonder.

I wasn't always working as an artist, however. For the first half of my life I was in and out of jobs that left me uninspired and constantly told art wasn't a career despite it filling nearly every facet of entertainment in our lives. I even quit doodling as a hobby - sad, I know. Not only was my creative spirit crushed, I thought there was no way I’d ever be able to follow ANY of my dreams if this, the biggest dream younger me ever had, wasn’t possible.

It wasn't until I returned to art in 2016 (thanks to the encouragement of a very, very dear friend) that I discovered the world of digital art and fantasy characters. I knew then it was time to chase that old, long forgotten dream. I worked two jobs while I taught myself art and carved my own creative path, a path that strayed far from the traditional, studio artist; it was an immensely challenging situation - a challenge that I’m so grateful to have faced for the lessons it taught me.

Now I spend my time with the online art community on deviantart, twitch and twitter, creating content that's funded all of you generous souls and connecting with other fellow creatives. What a humbling experience, meeting all these incredibly inspiring people and expressing myself in ways I have never been able to do before.

Creativity is possible in anyone. The person who tells you otherwise simply can’t imagine a beautifully painted future - a future I know you’re more than capable of painting for yourself given the right tools. Whether you are an art collector, a hobbyist or someone looking for a career in art, I hope that, if nothing else, you leave my page today feeling inspired to embark on your own creative adventure.
