Here's few maps for Troian RPG (troianrpg.fi
- only in Finnish, sorry) I've drawn, now that I got a nice collection of different types!
I just thought it would be a fun thing to do this kind of post for a change. I really enjoy drawing and explaining stuff like this.
Airan (or Airan Ostâbar), a small town between a southern mountain pass near the Red Desert. Old elven city, but was conquered long ago by the Troian kingdom. Now it's again in the hands of the elves, after the Merlem nobles took their old capital back and reclaimed their elven realm, Meres.
The town is controlled by one of the old Merlem noble families, Perennúr, who co-operated for centuries with the human nobles overseeing the city, before backstabbing them and taking it back.
Trosan, old city of dwarves of the Bardem mountains. Not much information to tell, at least not yet.
Ganosport, a quickly growing port city in the edge of the Red desert, famous for it's large monastery that's a traditional place for pilgrimage.
It's ideally positioned considering trade routes between north and south, which has caused it to flourish for many years, but now also unexpected problems. The population has increased too fast for the infrastructure to handle, because the re-estabilishing of the elven realm has caused many of the southern humans to desperately flee towards north, and the only route is through the city as the Merlem nobles now control the southern seas.
Kalman, a small swamp city favored by the slave traders. Originally estabilished as a northern elven colony, but has been in the possession of Troian kingdom and thus in the hands of the humans for ages.
Rich dwarves from the Bardem mountains often come down to visit and buy fresh workers for their mines, which has become an integral part of the economy of the whole region around the city itself. Since enslaving free Troian citizens is in fact illegal though slavery itself is not, most of the traded "goods" are imported from south or east. It's greatest problem is that the crime rate just keeps increasing.
(This map is rearranged and re-drawn, based on an older version of the city map made by Yuff.)
Tremas, nowadays the largest city and the capital of the Troian kingdom, called also "the city of the law" as the judiciary has traditionally resided there. In spite (or maybe because) of that it used to be crime ridden and a generally pretty unpleasant place, but after the elves rebelled the bastard king moved his court there. With the increased surveillance and maintenance directly under the ruler the city has become steadily a much safer place.
The population was growing too large with the refugees from south and finding a decent housing was becoming impossible, but that was solved in a cruel way after early winter and a failed harvest caused a great famine.
