Meet Shai, the Dæva of Ice.  She's the tsundere who doesn't warm up over time.  She's always trying to impress, and is quite the narcissist.  But...  She is quite impressive.  She's got a dry, deadpan sense of humour, and her insults cut deep, but they're so clever, it's hard not to admire her wit.  She looooves eyes on her, and loves to be complimented, but acts like she doesn't care one bit.  I don't think she has too many friends...

pretty!! Love these chars and the descriptions with them. Maybe you should do some series of these characters interacting with each other or something

Thank you!  Yeah, I think first I will show the characters by themselves, and then afterwards I will start pairing them or putting them in groups.  :)

Eh, since it's for my own project, I can't really allow you to do that.  But I'm really happy you like the design enough to want to use it in your game!

As always it's really cool that the design motifs of your characters really fit their personalities and the elements they represent, in this case how she's made up of straight edges and sharp points. It's a nice contrast to the water goddess you posted last time.
I'm noticing that these character portraits are done with sketchy/unpolished outlines. Are you going to do more polished illustrations later, or is this the style you're going for in this project?

Thanks!  I was planning to do more polished illustrations later.  I find I'm still learning more about design as I go, and so I would like to take another stab at some of the characters before I do a final.  I think I have a lot of potential improvement and hopefully, whether the final illustrations will be super clean or a bit more rough, they will look a lot better than this work.

Ah, so these are not the finished products, but more like concept demos then?
I agree it would definitely be a good idea to go back and rework some of the characters. Although your recent designs are really interesting and filled with personalities, I do think some of the characters can look even more unique and striking if you make some modifications to them. I figured that trying to design more than a hundred characters at the same time must be quite mind-numbing for you, so definitely take your time and don't rush out the final product.

Yeah, these are more illustrations, but the designs aren't finalized.  I have the sketches and design process viewable on Pointy Chins episodes on Patreon, but I feel like it doesn't look 'presentable' enough to show such rough sketches on here, especially when people don't know the world.  I figured I'd post more finished illustrations, so people can get used to the characters and then after Wraith is more accepted it should be okay to show the behind the scenes process.  I'm planning to have the artbook done in a couple of years, but I don't wanna rush things either, so if it's not ready, I'm not just gonna slap together a bunch of pics together.  I'd rather have it so every design is strong.
