Of Peace and Whimsy

This ongoing collaboration began with a painting that I did in Rebelle 8 to explore the creation of clouds using different techniques of digital watercolor. From there my friend and fellow artist Louis O Cushnie was inspired and asked permission to use my painting to create something new. And from there we have been passing it back and forth between us to see what we can create. Information on each is detailed below.

Artist's comment: This was an experiment in new techniques to create clouds using digital watercolor.

Artist's comment: Sybil made the lovely background in Rebelle 8. I brought it to Canva and added the islands and waterfall. The waterfall was especially tricky because I had to crop, align, and blend multiple elements to get it the right size and shade. I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Artist's comment: As soon as I saw what Louis had created, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it and the idea of this image popped into my head. The challenge was to get it translated from my head through the AI and out into the world. This took several iterations to get the composition, lighting, and style exactly the way that I wanted it. I am a firm believer that one must tinker around with the AI until one's own creativity shines through the results.
