Saw the new Superman. Pretty solid effort. Kinda intrigued by how It begins 'in medias res', just giving you the basics of the classic Superman origin within like 3 or 4 sentences and just goes from there... because we KNOW his story. I enjoyed it.

I think the silliest/most pointless thing creators/writers/directors/fans/etc. do with Star Trek is try to chronologically tie it's later-20th Century history and onward to our own.
