So... the pages I have been posting for the past few days are from a four page backup story called Dead Stop.
The story originally appeared in the comic book series Black Diamond -- a futuristic / 70's throwback story by Larry Young and John Proctor. You can read about it here: http://www.ait-planetlar.com/blackdiamonds.shtml
The palette was taken from a dum-dum wrapper that I scanned in a sampled with photoshop. Black Diamond books were printed on newsprint when they came out in issue form and the final result was pretty muddy. I could have done better.
Saturday Night Comic Drop No. 5: "A Very Bearhole Christmas"
I've been posting completed pages from One Way Ticket all week so there is not much point to highlighting tonight's submission... but I'm a creature of habit so I'm doing it anyway.
What can I say about Bearhole? The character is half bear, half asshole. The strip is about him terrorizing his balding, mild-mannered co-worker Wayne. The things he does are despicable. I have more Bearhole stuff I could post. Most of it is pretty disturbing. I apologize in advance.
Work on Dragonface slowed down a bit this week. I'm switching from working on it late night to working on it in the ear
I drew this a few years ago for the anthology One Night Stand. The project was funded by a Kickstarter organized by writer David Hopkins. He persuaded 30 artists to draw 30 one page stories he had written.
I had an hour to myself this morning. I spent it drinking coffee and reading the new PROPHET graphic novel by Brandon Graham... great stuff.
*** Every Saturday night I take a break from writing and drawing my current project and post something from the archives. ****
