It was late and he'd just stopped to pick up something from the little store he'd seen on his way home from work. It wasn't in the nicest neighborhood but he was well able to take care of himself or so he thought.
Pulling his keys out, one arm holding a bag of groceries and his mind elsewhere was when the stranger came out of the shadows and struck.
His early warning system went off too late for the first time in his life when the knife plunged into his back. Shocked, he dropped his groceries and turned, despite the pain, to take down the offender but whoever it was clearly knew he was not the equal of his victim and proceeded to stab repeatedly until the huge tom fell to the ground.
Staring around with eyes of panic and fear, the stranger quickly ransacked his victim, taking anything of value, then raced off into the night.
Laying in a pool of his own blood, the victim was in a state of shock. H

"Ugh! Is it that time of year again?"
"Come on, you know you love it!"
"Not really. I have so much I'm working on, I just don't want to interrupt it for some mindless pranking."
"Aw come on...we never take a break and I have the perfect prank that I know will cheer you up."
"Oh no! The last prank was a dud and it was a good thing no one knew it was us who did it."
"Don't be like that...we did get away with it you know...even if the results weren't exactly like I had planned."
His friend rolled his eyes. "Oh sure, like having the toilet paper catch on fire wasn't a bit extreme."
Blushing, the prankster defended himself. "Well how was I to know the guy was going to burn his leaves that very evening?"
"You were just lucky he had a hose nearby and the fire department arrived on time or we would have felt really bad about what happened."
"Yeah, okay but this time it's different and the victim so deserves it."
His friend gave him a pained look. "I r

Author's Note: Just something that came to me and wouldn't let go. Very short and different.
He'd been doing his best to keep his little sister from screaming in terror, comforting her the best a little eight year old could. It was a dark, cold, and tight place they found themselves in. He'd already tried to dig their way out with no success except to pull more dirt on them. That was when he ceased his efforts and huddled with his sister cuddled tightly against his body, his arms tightly wrapped around her to keep her warm.
Thankfully, she was asleep now, too drained to do anymore crying. Tears of his own tracked down his small face and the terror he hid from Casey earlier shone now in his dark eyes. The only thing he could be thankful for was the breath of fresh air he could feel on his face from somewhere above them. He hoped it meant there was a way to them and that someone would find them soon.
Outside, a small crowd of urgently working adults hurried as
Author's Note: Here's a short story based on a drawing I made, for the contest on SWAT Kats.us. Merry Christmas to all my SWAT Kat friends out there. Hope you like this!
"Commander! The city's Christmas Tree is a shambles!!!!" Ms. Briggs moaned in shock at the sight before her.
"Well, what the heck do you want me to do about it? It isn't my fault the Pastmaster decided to show up in time for Christmas!" Commander Feral said, a look of annoyance on his face.
They both looked up at what had once been a magnificent fir tree beautifully decorated which now had a bent top, the star barely hanging on and a huge hole punched in the center of it. It was a wonder the tree was still standing. Broken ornaments littered the ground.
"And those two hotshots didn't help matters by chasing that ugly, one-eyed gnome in this direction!" He said flatly, watching said hotshots soaring off above their heads.
"The Mayor is not going to

THE COMMANDER'S SEDAN
"Kat's Alive! Why did he have to blow in now!" Feral growled aloud as his enforcers were overwhelmed by some of the Pastmaster's ghoulish pets. This time it was gargoyles...yuck!
As per usual, the dead wizard was flying rings around them and creating all manner of chaos. He added a twist to his visit this time by animating everything around him.
So they ended up not only fighting gargoyles but, animated trees, cars, lamp posts, building signs, you name it. The building signs would swat his choppers out of the sky while the lamp posts beat on the sedans on the ground.
Katizens fled but couldn't get far before some mailbox tried to grab them or a tree snatched them from the ground. Screams filled the air and he was at a loss as to how to deal with all this.
The SWAT Kats weren't having any easier time of it either. Between avoiding the Pastmaster's bolts from his magical pocket watch and the animated choppers and other obstacles that were attacking them, they were t
