So there's apparently a business scam in which art thieves on Instagram (and I'm guessing Facebook as well) have been posting large amounts of uncredited art to their accounts, simply to gain a *huge* amount of followers, so that they can then *sell* their accounts, for anywhere "from $50 up to $2-3K, and in rare cases, up to 10-20K, depending on the niche, amount of followers, and activity". They're often listed on shady sites like this: www.fameswap.com/browse-instag… or on Ebay, and I even saw an app for buying/selling them. Anyway, for those of you who paint realistic, fantasy-style wolves/werewolves, you guys might want to check these two art accounts I found, in case your own work might be there, since I noticed there was a lot of my friends' artworks posted there. :/

Can’t you report them to instagram?

Only the individual artists (or their agents) can report their own stolen works. I regularly have to report mine. :/

I understand instagrams policy, but still, if it came in unnatural many reports they should react.
That's depressing to read. How do you find out? People tell you or do you have a way to find it?

Though I doubt my art is in danger...or interest...I always try to upload something in lower quality so if someone steals it, there nothing they really can do with it, I don't like using watermarks.

I stumbled across these when searching for my own stolen wolf image. And yes, IG (and FB) *should* shut these accounts down when they get multiple reports, but they never do.

Ah, I see.
Yeah it's strange. I know they are big, but all they really need is a smart algorithm and some human resources to go through the final decision. I say smart, because youtube had a pretty stupid one not long ago. About one report was about what needed to shut down any video.

I recently did some reinterpreted digital inks for Morgan Nelson (15yo) that claimed the original art as her own (on Amino) only to find out that the art in question belonged to
mainly_mutt_studios (instagram). Interestingly the instagram website link provided was a paypal.me account that goes by the name, Amber Sargent. I felt like I stepped in a rabbit hole. Morgan N. didn't share the art I did which is pretty common when I do gift art. Red flag raised. So I went over her head in the Art Haven facebook group and not but a minute later she PM's me on messenger asking how I knew about mainly_mutt_studios. To which I replied, "I'm a magician".

Watermark everything.

akreon vesner venrin The second account linked has Off-White artwork. I haven't had a chance to look into the first account's works yet, but I recognized OW work off the bat.

I'll be replying to this to mention other artists if I recognize any more works. I'm so sorry :(
