Inspired (394 words) Arlette walked slowly along the dirt path through the forest. Her pale eyes stayed upwards, watching the trees for something she wouldn’t find. The branches were bare this time of year. The leaves had all long since dried up and blown away. It left the trees naked and exposed - a striking contrast to the season just before. Fall gave trees colorful plumage that made them look full and mighty. But now it looked like they could be knocked over with a strong gust of air. As if somehow reading her thoughts, the wind suddenly picked up. Arlette shivered and tucked her new wings in closer to her body. The tree limbs rattled in protest, a dull, hollow sound that made the fox feel even colder. When the leaves rustled it almost sounded like singing to her - like they were having fun playing with the wind. Without the autumn song the trees sounded old and cranky. With a small sigh she continued down the trail. She kicked away a small rock that lay in front of her
A small purple fox sat by the spring, one paw splashing playfully at the water. A content sigh escaped him, tail idly waving behind him. Despite the way the sun irritated his eyes, he decided keeping them open for the time being was worth it. After all, it'd be a shame if he were to miss the pretty way the water reflected things. A gray reflection appeared next to the purple and black one. Blue eyes trailed out over the spring, taking in the shimmering water before lowering his gaze to their reflections. The fresh water relaxed him. It was clean and clear, and for some reason he felt like he really needed to appreciate it. He lowered himself to the ground and comfortably tucked in his legs. He looked up at Yuugure with a small smile. "Do you see any of those fish things in there?" One ear shifting towards the grey fox, Yuugure hummed, eyes narrowing slightly as he stopped his movements for a moment. "Nnn...can't say I do, rock friend. Then again though...maybe I do and just don't

Hello everyone! Thanks for hanging in there with us while we try to get used to Eclipse. If you haven't already we really recommend joining our Discord for updates and the like! Journals are kind of a mess right now and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to update them at the moment. Our adventure season has now ended, which means it's time for our prompt! Draw or write about your pet practicing something! Are they learning how to fight? Maybe tending to a garden? Show us what they enjoy doing!

Kitsunegami Spooktober Raffle
Hi guys! ZauriArt (https://www.deviantart.com/zauriart) was kind enough to let me design some new kitsunegamis for Halloween. I whipped up two spooky kids and hope you like them!
The air is cold and dense in the strange forest you've wandered into. You don't know how you got here or how long you've been here. All you know is there's someone...something out here with you and your only means of defense is this finicky flashlight.
You hear the sound of something rustling and freeze. It gets louder. Louder until you realize...it's paper. But the creature that suddenly comes into your view is nothing like paper. This is a large fox with flashing eyes and a nasty grin. The ear
