Felseralm Reunion Collab

Oh my god I'm dying. This was my first ever collab with @samuRAI-same and @x-SWC-x and look at how fantastic it turned out! I did the shading while x-SWC-x did the flats and samuRai-same did the rest!! I had such a blast working with these fantastic artists!

So this is for the Obertaurer group's Grand Reunion -2026 event where wild Obertaurers from the same herd get together and reuinte! So here are a few of the members of the Felseralm herd, getting together in snowy Canada! Amazing how many ended up in fairly close proximity to eachother. I know Ricky was definitely excited to go galloping around with some maybe familiar faces (even though he was rounded up 10 years ago)

Story:

Ricky tossed his head and pawed at the ground, impatient as Erica groomed the stallion to the point where no speck of dirt could be seen. The energetic Obertaurer didn't often come inside, although he always had the option as the door to his stall opened up into his pasture, but today was different. Erica wanted the stallion to look his best for this very special day. A few months ago she had seen that the official Obertaurer group had released some information on their former wild caught horses. An amazing effort that included ridiculous amounts of research to map out where the wild caught horse originated from. Erica was so excited to learn about Ricky's origins that she had spent the entire night going over the data, seeing who may have been his former herdmates. She chuckled to herself as she recalled Justin finding her the next morning on the couch, disheveled and laptop in hand. Eyes red as the girl clearly hadn't slept that night. Oh the lecture she got was one for the books.

Ricky once again pawed the ground, shaking Erica out of her thoughts.

"I know buddy, but its a solid 6 hour drive tomorrow so we gotta leave early. We don't have time for your groom in the morning." she said to the grullo stallion. "annnnnd unfortunately we've gotta keep you inside tonight friend."

The stallion's ears flicked back. Not pinned but enough to show his displeasure. He didn't really enjoy being cooped up inside.

"Its just for one night Ricky, I can't have you getting all muddy right before you reunite with your herd!" Erica laughed. As though the stallion could understand her he put his head down, giving into the soothing feeling of the brush.

After a few more minutes Erica gave herself a satisfied nod. Ricky's coat shone under the stall's lights.

"That'll do! Alright Ricky, sleep well and please for the love of god do not sleep in your own poop!" she said as she left, the stallion happily munching on hay in the corner. She shrugged to herself, maybe she'll get up a tough earlier to be sure to clean him if any messes arise.

The next day Erica was on the road, Obertaurer loaded in the back and on her way to Soaring Dream Stables and where the reunion was taking place. With nothing but the road and the droning podcast she had playing in the truck she thought about the last few weeks. While researching Ricky's history she was amazed to see that a large number of his former herd resided only a few hours away, close enough for a one day's drive. When reaching out to their owners she had heard that they were planning on getting the horses together. When she had received the message about letting Ricky join in on the fun she nearly jumped for joy. Lost in her thoughts she wondered how Ricky was going to react, would he recognize any of them? Were they even herdmates at the same time? Ricky was already 15, was he too old to keep up? She sighed.

"Well, one way to find out!"
