TASKDOCK IS NO LONGER DEVELOP, MAINTAINED OR SUPPORTED.  DOWNLOADING IS USE-AT-YOUR-OWN-RISK, ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO REAL RISK TO IT.  IF YOU DOWNLOAD AND TRY IT, AND IT DOES NOT WORK, PLEASE DO NOT MESSAGE ME FOR HELP.  I DO NOT HAVE THE SOURCE CODE FOR THIS APP, AND AS SUCH, I CAN NOT FIX, UPDATE, OR MAINTAIN IT.

WINDOWS 7 ONLY.

TaskDock gives the Windows 7 Superbar (Taskbar) a bit more of a "dock" like feel. It will center and re-adjust the Tasks area of the taskbar, centering it, expanding and contracting with new apps and old apps, as they are created and terminated.

~** Added in a manual Config Centering applet. from the tray icon menu > Config Centering. Drag the arrow to wherever (only horizontal registers) and double-click on the green arrow to save and apply the centering. **~

TO EXIT THE APP : (read this, ok?) it's icon is located in the system tray, a green orb with a circle around it. Right click. it has only one option, that is EXIT. Give it some time, and it will restore your taskbar to how it should be.

This is my first post in #Design-Shell, hope yall like it.

In Windows 10 you can use TaskbarX. Here you can download the Zip version wich is free or buy on the Microsoft Store. You dont have to install it, justo copy folder where ever you like. https://chrisandriessen.nl/taskbarx

Doesn't seem to be working, unfortunately. I have Windows 7 SP1 and all it did was cause my pinned icons to move a little to the left behind the start button.
SuprVillain's avatar
sorry, it is no longer developed.  please do not use it, sorry.

Alright. I've already decided to just use Winstep instead of centering my taskbar, so that's fine. :)

Does this work on Windows 10 TH2???
SuprVillain's avatar
honestly, no idea, the project is dead.  you can try but i promise nothing

ya i tested it a little bit ago. it didn't work properly. I'm not sure if it was due to me using themes with modified .msstyles though. it simply didn't center the icons. instead it put them to the left of the start menu button for some odd reason.

sounds like MS changed the way that the dock is laid out in program, sorry.

Will there ever be a version vor Win8.1?
SuprVillain's avatar
nope, source code lost in a hdd crash.  Also, I have left Windows behind, I use Linux (Kubuntu) now.

How's that been going for you? I dual boot Win10 and Gnome.

Looks really cool, but can you make it work on nVidia Surround multimonitor set (i.e. really wide screen)? My resolution is 5760x1200 and an annoying effect of Surround is that all app icons are on the far left on the task bar. I'd love to have them aligned in the center of the middle screen. But when I try to set the position using your app, it crashes instantly saying:

Run-time error '6':
Overflow

Center.txt file contains only this " 43200 "

Could something be done ebout this? I can't use DisplayFusion since Windows can see just one big screen, not three separate screens.
PS: Can you also move the Start Orb? I think Windows doesn't support such tweak, but man that would be so cool.
Thank you for what you do!

It's quite good. But after reboot my computer, I have to change its position again, is there any way to make it "stable"?
Thanks :D
SuprVillain's avatar
It should remember the position, but it has this thing with not doing so that i never could figure out.
pokemon17007's avatar
Yah it remembers the position, it shows up a notepad with number, but somehow Windows, maybe, changes itself. I don't know :p
Manually re-center would be much easier if the green arrow was not disappear until we click [x] - close button.
Your software is the only one do the job "auto center", I very appreciate it :)
SuprVillain's avatar
well the math for the autocenter is screen.width /2 - dock.width /2 and that # should be where the left of the dock is supposed to be. it's very simple, i dont know why others have not made use of it yet... go figure.

I will look in to re-writing the app in .net. A LOT of people seem to still make use of it, so it is justified i guess.

Great!! I hope your software would be released soon!!!
Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D

SuprVillain's avatar
