My Bio

Kids these they, you know? Them with their pseudo-retro look all with the pixels and the low resolution colors and the ripoff Marios, with their cool attitudes and social medias coming out of their computer phones. Were they even alive in the eighties?

...

Hey folks. I'm one of those kids, minus the irreverent treatment of my chosen aesthetic and the unique medium it exists in. I'm no master, but my aim is to be a supportive, constructive member of the pixel art community, and the wider art community at large. My greatest passion is almost anything to do with design, where form, function, and aesthetic create something bigger when they are artfully combined.
I have a username that originally came to life with ten year old me playing Spore and needing a cool, collected alias that would stick in the minds of the other creative folks in that odd little community. What fueled the decision is still, alas, a mystery to me.

No, I was not alive in the eighties.

Oh yeah, cobwebs. I think that's an opportunity I overlooked big time in this piece. That would have made everything so much clearer! I'll remember details like that for my next piece. Readability with the croquet ball (doesn't look like a croquet ball) and price tag is a shame, and your ideas for making the theme actually apparent are valid, and roads I should have explored more. Thanks for the critique, it's a pleasure to know you like the image--I loved making it!

Thanks for the critique! I'll keep up to date with how static my pieces are, and change them to give them more vivid life. Thank you for the link, as well.

Thanks for the critique! I never noticed that the lanterns were lacking, but now that you say it, it's very noticeable. I'll peel my eyes for that sort of thing, in the future. Same goes for that background.
Thanks!

Your note on my clouds is brilliant and sums up what I couldn't quite put my finger on when I drew them. "[longing] to be crystalline" is something I needed pointing out, and I think I'll try to let some organic shapes flow into my work.
Thank you for your kind words!

Haha, thanks a lot for the critique! I'm so used to using less-shocking colors this was like some kind of mad explosion of pent-up vibrancy that I've been keeping inside... I don't think I'll ever go back to being this bright, and I'll definitely have a better palette for any functional asset I make from here on.
Awesome advice!
