Louis Vuitton Malletier is his original name but he is now commonly referred to as Louis Vuitton, or LV for short (Wikipedia, 2016). Vintage Top-Loader Wardrobe Louis Vuitton Steamer TrunkLouis Vuitton is now a French fashion house in which the label's LV monogram appears on most of its products, ranging from luxury trunks and leather products to shoes, watches, accessories, sunglasses and books. Louis Vuitton is one of the world's leading international fashion houses; selling its products through standalone boutiques, lease departments in high-end department stores, and through the e-commerce section of its website. For six consecutive years (2006–2012), Louis Vuitton was named the world's most valuable luxury brand. Its 2012 his brand was valued at US $25.9 billion dollars. In 2013 LV was valued at US$28.4 billion dollars with revenue of US $9.4 billion. The company operates in 50 countries with more than 460 stores worldwide.

Louis Vuitton founded his label in 1854 on Rue Neuve des Capucines in Paris, France. He had observed that trunks of his time could be easily stacked and in 1858, Vuitton introduced his flat-bottom trunks with Trianon canvas, making them lightweight and airtight. Before he introduced his line of trunks, rounded-top trunks were used, generally to promote water run off, and thus could not be stacked. It was Vuitton's gray Trianon canvas flat trunk that solved this problem, creating ease of use for ship voyages. Many other luggage makers imitated LV's style but never exactly duplicated his design.

A stunning & rare piece for the serious collector. We think this is a great working piece! Use this piece for what it was meant for, grand travels over the world or set as the main conversation piece in your living room but please don't just use it as a coffee table!
