I think the submission limit also didn't help... going from five to two a week with out warning caught me off guard. I believe the previous founder before you came along did that...

Personally if you want more art in I'd suggest bumping up the limit to 4 a week or something?

Sorry to hear things haven't being going well for you. Hope you're doing O.K..

I was thinking of changing it to an unlimited amount of submissions but I believe the reason for it not coming into play because the folders were set to the global setting. Hopefully I can change this for the days to come but I got the suggestion to fix the folders and put them into categories.
But it's ok. I have to work with the reality that these people have left and it's a good time to make this group the way it should be and how it's supposed to be runned. I make find a new successor or a new co-founder for the months to come but I'll try to do my best to run the group.

I wouldn't do unlimtied. Mainly due to folks getting way too carried away and submitting their entire gallery. I had one person try to submit nearly 100 pictures to the club I'm maintaining... It was hell made worse that nearly all of them were in the wrong damn folders.

You've done a fine job overall. You'll get there.

Oh really. That does happen a lot. I might as well increase the number of submissions a week then.

And thank you.

I'm not sure of the history of this Group and what the previous Founder was like and how they ran the Group versus how you're doing it now, but to assume that people left the Group because they disliked you isn't fair to either you or them Worried

If the Group is inactive because people are not submitting then try to find art to let into the Group via invites so that it doesn't die! It also might be that people just don't know this Group exists, so advertising is the best way to combat that!
Sending out invites is a great way to not only continue the flow of art into an inactive Group, but also a great way to advertise; the more art that's in your Group, the more your Group's icon will be present on the "Groups" part of a deviation which means the more potential that people will see your Group!
and since this is a Sonic Group you'll definitely have no shortage of art to find! :giggle:

Maybe hold contests and Group-wide events to get people more involved in Group activities :nod:
I know it's very discouraging when a Group's activities grind to a halt, especially if the Group was previously very active, but don't let that stop you! Try your best to keep the Group afloat until it can stand on it's own one day
Good luck to you! :hug:

I believe your ideas is what this group needs. I remember the days when this group just started and people were advertising this group and running contests. I have tried running a contest but that idea didn't have much support and people barely entered so I'll try again and see if I can make it better. I might also put some opens to some new co-founders and some contributors to help out with the group so it can run smoothly. I'll try to run the group the best I can for now until I possibly find a new successor of this group.

Gah, I'm so sorry for the late reply! >.<

That's really great to hear! I'm glad you'll keep at it, if just for a bit longer :aww:
And that's a great idea; if you feel a bit overwhelmed or aren't able to run the Group very closely then taking on extra mods will definitely lighten the workload for you! Just make sure that the people you take in as mods are trustworthy and will do their jobs :nod:

And lastly, if you're finding that people aren't entering your contests, there might be several reasons for that:
1) The Group isn't large or active enough just yet to pull off a successful contest
         If this is the case then it's just a matter of time, advertising, and getting yourself out there to eventually grow your Group members into a wider, more active audience :aww:

2) The the prizes aren't incentive enough for people to want to sink hours of work into art for the contest; in other words, people feel the prizes aren't worth it
          What I mean by "prizes that aren't worth it" are usually things like "you'll receive a llama as a prize" or "you'll receive a fav from the Founder" and not much else...
           While it's true that your only reason for participating in a contest shouldn't be just to get something, it's also not unreasonable for people to want some sort of incentive for joining a contest; it is a competition after all! So make very sure that the prizes you're putting up are something that people will actually want to work for (For example, try making one of the prizes be that, if you place 1st, your art will be placed in the Group's Feature folder as an example of a job well done!)

3) The contestants aren't being given enough time to complete the contest's theme
             I've seen Groups hold contests with some very complicated and detailed themes, and then expected the participants to complete their entries in less than a week X.X
              If your contest's theme/challenge is a very complicated and detail-heavy one, make sure to give your participants a reasonable amount of time to finish their entries, that way potential contestants won't be scared off from even entering due to stiff deadlines!

Ahh, sorry for the wall of text ahaha ^^;
I hope some of this helped in any way; again good luck to you and the Group! :hug::heart::heart:

Aww it's ok. These are all great ideas for a group contest. I might use these strategies for the Winter contest I want to do. Thank you for your input c;
