No surprise. There were some really bad Mario games in the 90s that fans felt weren't needed. Those Mario's Early Years games were a huge no-no, because why be learning ABCs and numbers and stuff that kids could learn outside of playing video games like that. The Mario Teaches Typing games, I mean I played the second game back when I was young, but one of the biggest flaws was having Peach's dress be purple instead of pink. What's ironic is the famous voice actor Charles Martinet who voices Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi and some other characters started voicing in the franchise even before Super Mario 64, and that was in Mario's Game Gallery. The Mario games are supposed to be for fun, not education in general and then it takes away all the fun for the adults when they should already know the meanings of words since K-2 and so on. And because the Virtual Boy is one of the worst gaming consoles, that places Mario's Tennis being one of the worst.

How is Mario Tennis worse than Hotel Mario? That game is way worse than Mario Tennis

I said Mario's Tennis which is for the Virtual Boy, NOT Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color. Are you being confused or something? Please research with the keywords (without necessarily putting them in the exact phrase) Mario's Tennis Virtual Boy and you'll know the difference. I'm saying that the Virtual Boy is one of the worst gaming consoles in history because of gamers getting severe headaches which could link to becoming blind.

Yes, I know the game Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color was in fact a hit game and I loved it (but I only played the Nintendo 64 version). Don't blame other people if you're misreading what they're talking about.

The word of advice is don't buy the Virtual Boy unless you want to take that risk that really isn't worth it. I also heard that there was going to be a Virtual Boy version of the popular SNES game Donkey Kong Country: Diddy's Kong Quest, but thankfully they cancelled that version due to the Virtual Boy being a disaster. When the Virtual Boy failed, it was quickly pulled from retailers thank goodness. I didn't even know about the Virtual Boy back when I was little and didn't know it even existed, and the first time I heard about it was when I was doing research back in my teen years in the 2000s.

Yeah, but I don't think it's worth the risk for a console that not only failed miserably but had numerous incidents to prove it. IMO, it should be illegal to sell such merchandise if it had incidents where people ended up going blind or just suffered vision loss. Almost everyone at the time the Virtual Boy was new just threw that console (and its games too) out the window to demand that console and its games to cease production and be pulled from stores. Oh, and I also found out the price for the Virtual Boy compared to other platforms was more of a rip-off.

I’d say Super Mario Odyssey and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

And any Mario Party games before 8 with the exception of 5 and Advance.

The Lost Levels is no such game to be considered "bad". It's probably only considered bad because the most people who played it just have no skill in it.

Actually, "Mario's Picross" was pretty popular in Japan. (Even got a SNES sequel there.) Though, I enjoyed it personally, and "Lost Levels" isn't that bad if you're really good at the original SMB.
I actually had "Mario Teaches Typing 2," but I don't think it was that bad as far as "edutainment" games go.

Hard to say what my least-liked Mario title is, (huge Nintendo fan here) but some of the later Mario Party & Mario Sports games were a bit more mediocre to me admittedly. Some of those were only fun during multiplayer. Not to mention the pacing for computer players got too slow during some later MP games (Especially MP8 for Wii.) making single player a chore. I also disliked them removing Donkey Kong as a playable character in favor of just some minor enemies like Blooper.

"New Super Mario Bros." (2006 DS) also hasn't aged as well as the original 2D games to me, (too easy, and some bland levels compared to it's sequels) but I still consider a decent game, and some of the bosses & new items were pretty good. It also helped popularize sidescrolling games again.

Sticker Star and (The Upcoming) Color Splash are bad for a specific reason: They aren't fun, They're badly designed point and click adventures where the wrong choices kill you.

Truer words were never spoken. To be perfectly honest, every franchise had its bad games so it makes little sense to just target one; furthermore, a person shouldn't just throw out the whole franchise for a few bad games.

Hotel Mario. But look at the YTPs made with its footage. It's so bad, it good...enough to make YTP from its horrible cutscenes and bad voice acting.

Haha true. You don't hear of his bad games often (also with the grand amount of titles he came out with, there's bound to be a fair share of bad ones). I only ever played few mario games but the ones I played weren't bad. Thankfully.

I don't think Ultra Smash is a bad game but just completely devoid of any complexity. It's literally a Mario game that might be too simple.

That's what's bad about it. It was completely underdeveloped and severely lacking in content, which is very depressing considering that Nintendo usually went up and above to put in as much content in their games as possible to give them a lasting appeal, but not for this. What's worse is that it is unlikely that we'll be receiving any DLC for this ala Splatoon to make up for it.

I have to agree, the Mario games are becoming way to simple after Super Mario Galaxy 2. The games are becoming more and more linear and formulaic with games like Paper Mario Sticker Star, that they don't really seem to stack up very well to the older Mario games back in the day.

hell the easiest Mario games to me are 3D World and New Super Mario Bros 2. You WILL have 100+ lives by the end of the game and you don't need to be god tier in terms of skills but simply play the game normally. My problem with current Mario games while not being awful just seem to throw lives at the player offering no penalty for dying.

Look, I'm just upset that they're reusing the similar Sticker Star formula for the upcoming Color Splash. All I want to see is a true return to the formula that made the first two PM games great in the first place. I actually like Super Paper Mario to an extent, mainly for it's deeper story element. I'll only look into getting Color Splash if it actually fixes the flaws that were in Sticker Star. But I still prefer a PM game like the first two. If people like you want to like Sticker Star, then I'm not going to get in your way. Don't go treating me like I'm a bad guy about this.
