Edit: I thought $17.50 was a bit high, so I reduced the price of the book a little to $16.99. I wish I could make it cheaper but I'm already losing money as it is orz.

Area 9 is finally available on my online store! Please buy it! >w<
Taishi Iwasaka had always dreamed of working in Area 9, a research facility surrounded by a huge wall that is famous for protecting the people from lethal viruses that have wiped out nearly half of the population.
Feeling useless, Taishi has recently given up on his dream, but in a strange turn of events he finds himself trapped in Area 9 as a hostage with a crazy bomber called 'Bomb', who claims to be a terrorist who will blow Area 9 up if they don't hand over everything they own.
Is there anything Taishi can do before it's too late? Just who is Bomb, and why does he want to destroy Area 9? Taishi will have to overcome his feelings of helplessness if he's going to do anything about it, as well as make a few shocking discoveries along the way.

(Note: I was hoping my phone charms would be ready to give away as freebies too, but UNFORTUNATELY, I had to order a puncher from the UK (because normal punchers are too big) for the phone charms and it turns out that the laminator I had at home doesn't even work either, so it will be a while before I can actually complete the phone charms. >_> )
Buy it now or awaken Bomb's wrath!
I have also made a few small changes to the main pages, like fixing typos, slight changes in dialogue and tones … nothing major.
It looks like I misunderstood what it said on the printer's main site, and the books aren't kept in their storehouse to ship directly to the buyers unless you sign a year-long agreement for a fulfilment service, but there's a monthly charge, so I decided not to go for it… Not until I go pro and start selling several books a month (if that ever happens )
So as it stands, I'm now selling from home, which DOES have its benefits since I can add freebies.
Here's a blurry image of the back and the spine. My camera sucks. ._.
Now open the book and… Oops! You started on the last page. This should remind you what happens when you do things backwards.
I created new artwork especially for the contents page! Because contents give a lasting impression (or not…)
And here are some of the story pages! Just look at the lovely crisp contrast between the whites and the blacks!
Don't forget Bomb's grumpy face! xD
In the book version, there are also little sketches at the start of each chapter.
And of course, let's not forget the extras, a little treat for those who bought the book. : )
I can't show much of this section, but there are comics, character profiles, concept art (from when my art was painfully bad) and more.
(The text is blocked out for obvious reasons. But basically the 4 main characters have filled out sort of a survey, and you can guess that Bomb isn't very truthfull about all the questions. The questions start getting really random towards the end just to annoy Bomb, because he hates these survey things )
Now, go buy the book so you can add it to your manga collection!
Or if you have Japanese manga you can put it there if you want! : ) (I have some Japanese manga, but my Japanese is bad so I still haven't read/finished a lot of those titles)
(This manga actually has the same dimensions as a standard Japanese manga, so maybe it'll blend in more Japanese manga… XD)
Ok, sorry about another very long journal. But, anyway, I'd be very happy if you bought my book!
If you're interested in the printing process, you can read on.
The printer I used was 360 Digital Books, they're a very good printer and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to get their manga printed but was unhappy in some way with the more mainstream printers. I found them after spending a whole day searching for a good printer, but each one I looked into had a certain catch, be it file restrictions, size restrictions or just a bad reputation. 360 Digital is completely customisable, which came as a BIG relief to me because all the other printers had rules like 'Your book must be this size', 'Your files can't exceed this limit', 'You can't use a dpi higher than this' (which is a big problem because black and white, toned books NEED a high dpi!!!) I finally found this printer and they allowed you to choose your own size, your own paper type and cover type, and they actually specified that black and white files SHOULD be at least 600dpi.
There's very little on the site (being as customisable as they are, they can't exactly have set prices, I guess) so everything was done through email. My Sales Account Manager was very helpful and she guided me through most of the process. Being a complete noob I had to bother her with a lot of silly questions, but I'm glad they have such helpful staff otherwise I don't know what I would have done. (All the staff I was in contact with were very nice, sometimes they even used smiley face emotes xD)
From what I read on someone's blog, they're also cheap compared to a lot of other short-run printers. The only expensive part is the cost of proofs, and making changes to your files. But they sent me another proof free of charge when there was a mistake on their behalf with the first proof. Shipping was also expensive for me because they're based in America, and I'm not. >.o
But I'd still recommend them for those who want to print manga in short quantities, unless you have some amazing and cheap printers in your own country. They provide very good service and I'd be happy to use them again. :3
