Rocko, Heffer and Filbert Debut (Rocko and Heffer): Rocko's Modern Life, "A Sucker For The Suck-O-Matic" - September 18, 1993 Debut (Filbert): Rocko's Modern Life, "Canned" - September 18, 1993 Creator: Joe Murray
Rocko can't seem to catch a break in today's society. Good thing he has friends in the always-hungry Heffer, and the geeky Filbert.
EDIT: The first in a week of characters I first drew in "Squiggles III" (uploaded today). I can't seem to get the hang of Joe Murray's art style. I think the piece looks fine just the same.
Rocko was like crack to this four to seven year old black girl growing up in Harlem. Yeah, our streets were dangerous, just like the ones in O-Town. I always thought Rocko had it more rough, though. Also, Rocko was fucking adorable to kid me. And nothing has changed even now that I'm all grown up.
Nickelodeon used to be a lot more daring. I don't think any other network would have taken a pass at Mysterious Cities of Gold. And they ran Looney Tunes (mostly) uncut when ABC was slicing them to ribbons.
They locked horns with John K., but he has a hard time keeping a show going no matter how much freedom he has (see APC)
