Fauns and Spriggans

The forests of Arcarius are regions teeming with life and harmony, serving as home to creatures as fascinating as they are dangerous. Among them, the species comprising the category of "Forest Spirits" stand out as some of the most iconic and powerful entities in all of Arcarius. Within this category, two species in particular Fauns and Spriggans take center stage; they are also known, respectively, as the Demons and the Sirens of the Forests.

Fauns are forest spirits characterized by an intimidating and terrifying appearance resembling that of a demon with bodies composed of wood, foliage that mimics fur, and cores of glowing amber that imbue them with powerful magical energy. These creatures inhabit the lush forests of Arcarius and possess an extremely aggressive temperament toward anyone or anything that poses a threat to their ecosystem a trait that explains why fauns attack humans and other invading races without any hesitation. Adult Fauns are solitary nature spirits as well as being far more aggressive and powerful in contrast to young Fauns, who tend to form small groups and whose magical abilities are not yet fully developed. As an interesting side note, the appearance of Fauns varies and adapts to the different types of forests they inhabit.

Fauns are deeply bound to nature; thanks to this bond, these forest spirits wield incredible magical power that allows them to manipulate the plant life in their surroundings and use it as a weapon against their targets. Furthermore, these creatures possess the ability to blend seamlessly into their environment and to communicate with both plants and animals. Fauns deeply hate humans, whom they regard as monsters capable only of destroying nature and the forests; However, they make exceptions for those humans who protect nature such as forest warlocks or druids.

Spriggans dwell in the deepest recesses of the forests and are characterized by a feminine appearance resembling nymphs fused with wild traits, such as multiples horns resembling crowns, a tail, razor-sharp claws, or armor fashioned from wood. Embedded within their bodies are cores of pure magical energy, which endow these forest spirits with truly terrifying power. Unlike other forest spirits, Spriggans view themselves as the rulers of their ecosystems; consequently, They are characterized by a proud and dominant demeanor, and in fact, they treat the other inhabitants of the forest as their servants. Spriggans share a profound bond with nature; thanks to this connection, these forest spirits wield incredible magical power, enabling them to manipulate the plant life within their domains at will and command an impressive arsenal of truly potent spells. Indeed, Spriggans rank among the most powerful forest spirits in all of Arcarius.

A characteristic of Spriggans is that they possess a singular attraction to humans; indeed, they use their angelic voices to beguile men who venture into their domains, turning them into their lovers, this is the reason why they are also known as the “Sirens of the Forests.”

These two species of spirits embody the vitality and power of the forests of Arcarius, serving as guardians whose mission is to protect their ecosystems and the beings that inhabit them. However, due to the violent nature of these spirits, they are feared by the inhabitants of Arcarius (primarily the Fauns) despite this, they steadfastly pursue their mission to protect the world's flora and fauna.
