I'm changing my social media experience
The problem with social media is that it’s not about being social, it’s about turning yourself into a product and hope to get as much currency in form of likes and followers as you can in return.
The number of likes and followers you get will determine the worth of your product. And if your product isn’t as liked as anyone else’s, you will start to question its worth… your worth, since you’re the product.
And while most people do this with selfies, I’ve done this with my art; my art has been my product and I tie my self-worth to my work. In my mind, my art and I are inseparable. It’s the only thing I’m good at, it’s the only thing I’ve been acknowledged for, it’s the only thing of value that I can offer.
And for my entire “internet career” I’ve been working very hard to improve my product, by getting better at my craft, so people would like it more. And right now
